Does the price list help……? In all honesty, probably not!
The reason we say this is because it is not easy to give you a clear, concise answer. The price list is the best 'short answer' we can give you to the question 'how much does Community Acorns charge?'
Community Acorns is about giving value for money. Regeneration and community development work is something we are really passionate about; hopefully you understand this by now. We rarely charge for all we do, or, put the other way round – we often do extra, unseen work that we never charge for.
Our standard fees are subject to expenses for travel/time and where applicable hotel accommodation if we have to stay over. You are welcome to attend our office in Filey but if we need to travel to you we will have to charge you expenses for this. If we travel to you we will travel if possible public transport, or motor car if this is not viable. If travelling by car we charge at the HM revenue & customs rates (currently 40p/mile).
We take a realistic viewpoint. Please don’t hesitate to contact us to discuss issues around cost. Our charging meter doesn’t’ run all the time! We will gladly discuss issues around cost, and be open, honest and ‘straight’ with you.
On finishing, please also remember that the cost of our professional services can be paid for out of grants that may be available for your organisation to apply for.
Bursaries
Due to personal success obtaining grant funding combined with a genuine desire to help in communities we have an amount of time that we can allocate to projects at reduced rates or free of charge.
We would have to charge for expenses incurred (travel and resource costs) and each request is allocated on an individual basis. Each year we offer 100 hours but when the 'bursary time bank' is spent, we’re afraid that, that’s it.
The partners consider all requests/applications individually and make their decisions as they see fit. All opportunities for funding need to be considered in order for our bursary to be an option.
Family Support Services
The simplest way to cost services such as these is to say that the cost is £15 per hour. Therefore a 2 hour session with half hour set up/clear away after is a 3 hour session thus the cost would be £45.00.
This is on the basis that you have suitable room hire, some equipment and your location is within a 10 mile radius of our office base in Filey.
If not the cost of room hire will have to considered, planned and also costed into the planning of these sessions.
Currently all these sessions are being delivered by Ann Tyndall though to fulfil demand we may look to recruit a suitable practitioner to operate some emerging commitments. Either way all programmes of new work will be managed and overseen by Ann Tyndall.
The opportunities to bring about change are potentially quite amazing here! For example for an expenditure of £500/£600 of investment to provide support services to facilitate and establish group attendance to sessions, an emerging group is taking steps to facilitate their own sessions! This reduces the need of input from such as us – as they strive to go it alone and aim for sustainability.
