A.C.R.O.N.Y.M.S and abbreviations

Lets face it we do live in a world where the use of extended and perhaps on the face of it more complicated grammatical terms are used in everyday usage.

This, coupled with the great use of emails and text messages and the ‘modern’ way we shorten and abbreviate words and phrases to get through the day, has created a new sub language made up of abbreviations and acronyms.

The field of regeneration and community development is no different in this regard. Many leading initiatives are government sponsored, and most practitioners (if not all) seems to package the field in a complicated way creates its own language.
